Clover Release Day

Synopsis

Clover Watson wants more from life than what she can find on her daddy's farm in southern Oregon. Young, smart, and driven, she has a plan and she refuses to be distracted from her goals. After four years at the University of Washington in Seattle, she heads home for the summer with her diploma and an acceptance letter to graduate school at University of Portland. She's sure she’s got things all figured out.

Except for Jake Feldman. He was one of her childhood friends, and she hasn't seen him since she left for college four years ago. This summer he's back in town and all grown up -- sweet, handsome, and completely smitten with Clover.

At first, she thinks a harmless summer fling is the perfect reward for her hard work at school. But as the summer continues and their romance grows, Jake challenges everything she thought she knew about herself and her plans. When the end of summer comes, Clover is forced to evaluate what she really wants, but can she find a way to write Jake into her life?

Meet the Author

Braxton Cole lives in the Pacific Northwest where she spends most of her time holed up in her office writing stories. When she's not writing, she can be found riding her bike, hiking the fabulous local trails, chasing her kids, or wishing that her thumb was a little more green. She has a bad habit of killing what she tries to grow, but hasn't given up hopes of one day being a successful urban farmer. Braxton writes erotic romance because romance is the stuff that makes life great, and sex is fun. The two belong together, both in life and in fiction.

Clover quote.8

“You came back.” She sounded as uncertain, yet hopeful, about things as he felt.

“Of course.” He kissed her cheek like she’d kissed his earlier and wished he had the nerve to move his mouth just a little to the side. That was all it would take to touch his lips to hers. Instead, he pulled back and shifted into drive. She settled into the middle seat right next to him with the length of her thigh pressed up against his. He much preferred to have her sit there than all the way over on the passenger side. He tried to sound casual, but he could feel his face flush with heat as he said, “I threw together some food in case we get hungry.”

“That’s sweet, thank you.” She stretched up and kissed his cheek. For one stuttering, suffocating, perfect moment, her lips touched his skin. His eyes drifted shut and held perfectly still. So far, their exchanges had been relatively chaste, but he felt something shift inside him with that kiss. His crush was moving far too quickly into something solid and his chest swelled with fear and hope. She lingered there for several seconds, close enough for him to feel the whisper of her breath against his skin. When she finally pulled away, he stayed in that position, stunned immobile by her closeness. She squeezed his leg, kissed his cheek again, quickly this time, then pulled away completely. “So, where are we going?”

He jerked into motion, embarrassed by his reaction. But what else could he expect? When a girl like Clover got close enough for him to smell the subtle fragrance of her shampoo and the lingering chlorine on her skin from the pool, well, something like that would always affect him. And this time it wasn’t just a girl like Clover; it was Clover herself. The crush he’d been cultivating for as long as he could remember had grown exponentially since he’d picked her up earlier that day.

He cleared his throat as he pulled out of the parking lot. “I have no idea. Where do you want to go?”

“Head south, toward the river.”

“You got it.” Instead of holding her hand this time, Jake settled his arm around Clover’s shoulder. As he pulled onto the highway, she rested her hand on his leg. Unlike before, she didn’t play with his inseam. Rather, she let her hand lie in one place, low by his knee, with her fingers curled around the inside. It was for the best, he knew. The distraction of her hand sliding high up on his thigh while driving was simply too much to ignore. He’d nearly wrapped his truck around a pole while trying to corner on the way into town earlier. He didn’t need a repeat event. Still, he missed the feel of her hand exploring. If he could figure out a way to say it without sounding like an asshole, he’d tell her that she was welcome to touch him whenever and however she wanted. The fear that she might actually take him up on it was enough to keep him silent. For now, though, he was happy simply to drive down the road with her sitting next to him.

Sexy Sunday - Elodie Parkes

Another Sexy Sunday and this week I have the pleasure of introducing you to the divine Ms. Elodie Parkes. She went and did all the hard work for me, so sit back, get comfy and enjoy some snippets and a little bit about her. Please feel free to leave comments for her below, too.

Thanks for stopping by, Elodie!

*THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS GRAPHIC SEXUAL CONTENT AND STRONG LANGUAGE
AND IS INTENDED FOR MATURE ADULT AUDIENCES ONLY.*

Hi Deliza, It’s lovely to visit with you,

A little about me for your readers.

I live in Canterbury, United Kingdom, and I work in an antiques shop, and write. I have two dogs that keep me fit with their need for walks. They are Dalmatian dogs, Celt and Chaucer’ who big softies.

I write romance, contemporary, and erotic with a twist of mystery, suspense, or the paranormal, now and then. I like to make the story unusual in some way, by a quirk in the tale.

I never consciously thought I wanted to be a writer. I just knew I had things to write and have always written things, even if it has just been left on my computer for years.

I started writing when I was seventeen. Life intervened in my writing time and I stopped serious writing for some time. I started writing again seriously a couple of years ago, because I had so many stories in my head.

I have published four erotic romance books to date,

Millie Reinvented, which is a book for women, a love story, an uplifting story for the lonely, there’s a little humor in it and lots of yummy sex.

Two of Them, a contemporary erotic romance that men might like because the two principal characters are men looking for love, lots of secrets and sex in this.

The Horoscope Writer, A deeply romantic, sexy romance, full of delicious sex, that shows the lovely character of the main male lead, Dominic. He’s my ‘wish he was real guy’, touch of paranormal in this.

The Last Time, from Eternal Press was released May 1. This is erotic romance.

I’ve also written a short (14,000 word story) The Picnic, for an erotic romance anthology called A Celtic Anthology published by Moon Rose.

Just had my latest manuscript, The Winter Girl contracted by Hot Ink Press. This is erotic romance again with a twist of magic. That’s a summer release.

Find the books on:

Eternal Press, Amazon, Bookiejar, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, KOBO, Apple iBooks, and Diesel ebooks

****

There’s a special place in my heart for my male lead August in Millie Reinvented. Even though I wrote it, when I re-read, I always love the way he is so constant in his love and care for Millie.

Here is the blurb:

When August kissed Millie at a Christmas party, he was perhaps already half in love with her. Millie suddenly realizes that her husband has not really been kissing her for a couple of years. The kiss from August is so different and enjoyable it jolts her into the realization that she has been kissing her husband but he’s just been taking it.

It’s not the only thing he’s been taking.

Millie finds herself assessing her relationship with her husband over the next months as the August starts to pursue her. The things Millie finds out about her husband astonish her.

What will happen as Millie and August develop a steamy and special relationship?

****

And a snippet,

August was in a meeting and his desk remained empty for the fifteen minutes Millie allowed herself wandering around his department.

She left that floor and went to check if he was making coffee.

It was right then that August had finished his meeting and under the cover of an Imperial sized, artwork portfolio, he took the candy box and dropped it on Millie’s desk. It had been easier than he thought it would be to do that, and now he was on his way back to his office via the stairs. He heard footsteps and then he came face to face with Millie.

She stared at him for a few seconds before she threw herself at him and kissed him. She held his head to hers, and he turned her and pressed her against the wall shielding her with his body. Millie moved her hands from his face to his chest and then his stomach. She kissed him and felt his kiss hungry and searching against her lips, and then her tongue. Her hands strayed down to the zip fastening of his suit pants. They were cut low so that they rested on his hips and Millie found the fastening, undid it, and unzipped them a little. She put her fingers into the top of the trousers and then his boxers. She could feel him hard and yet like velvet, and she caught her breath.

August was totally captivated by this. He felt himself harden and thicken at her touch, and deepened his kiss. He was finding it hard to breathe and stopped kissing Millie to close his eyes against her neck, his head on her shoulder.

“Millie, Millie”, he whispered, and she slid her hand further into his shorts as she licked his earlobe.

“August you feel so good.”

He dropped the portfolio he was carrying to the floor. He pulled himself together and gently moved her hand. He fastened his trousers, and ran a hand through his glossy hair. His blue eyes were dark with desire, and he took her hands in his and held them to his chest.

“Millie I’m not strong enough to resist you any longer. I’m desperate for you and I think of nothing but you. Meet me after work in the car park. I will be finished at six, is that okay?”

Millie smiled. “It is and I’ll be watching the clock until then.”

August kissed her, his lips a soft caress, and then a lingering pressure as he found all he wanted to do was stay with her, kiss her, and feel her hands on him.

They went to their respective offices and August was glad he knew where the security cameras were, and they were not on that stairwell. He got to his desk and could hardly sit down he was so hard. His erection pressed up against the low waistband of his suit pants.

Millie got to her desk and sat down. She felt damp and stood up to pull the skirt of her business suit down further, worried she might leave some kind of telltale dampness on her chair. August was going to drive her nuts she thought and maximized her email window to read anything new.

I do love to write.

People and emotions inspire me to write. The complexity of life spurs me to write. I see emotions in people around me all the time, and often they remain unspoken. I think we don’t share ourselves enough, and are encouraged to hide our true selves.

Lots of my characters have some foundation from real people who have passed through my life. They are composites of those glimpses of people and my imagination.

I don’t have family and amongst my friends, no one knows what I write. Just one friend knows I write something (smiles). I seriously doubt anyone I actually know has read any of my books. That’s okay.

Why is that? Well my books fall into the category of erotic romance because of the graphic love scenes. I could have said sex scenes, but for me it’s always about the love my characters feel for each other, even if sometimes they are afraid to say it.

My female lead characters are intelligent and strong, yet have hidden vulnerabilities, or life happenings that are harsh. They know what it is like to be lonely and they are not afraid to go after love if it presents itself.

My male lead characters are deep, gentle, sexy, sometimes afraid of their feelings, sometimes so desperately in love they lay themselves open. They are intelligent and giving. The male leads in my stories with paranormal themes are different. They can be alphas, mysterious, and have strange things in their lives, but they will love their woman forever if they fall in love.

I’ve also brought along The Last Time today, which is my newest release.

Actor Seth Carbery swears he will never fall in love again, that is until he meets private detective Bethany Snow.

Something strange is going on. Seth and other members of the movie cast and crew are receiving threatening letters, but no threat has ever been carried out... yet. Bethany Snow is sent on location by the Black Agency to investigate, and guard Seth Carbery against danger.

The case is not what it first seems and even when Bethany thinks it could be over, a new twist means she becomes a target.

Seth and Bethany find they can’t keep their hands off each other.

Who is sending the letters and why? Does Seth have a secret admirer or stalker?

With steamy romance, graphic love scenes, and a quirky story of what people do for love this erotic romance is for adults only.

Excerpt: 18+

Bethany put her arms up around his neck, and pressed closely along his body. Seth kissed her softly, gently holding her face, his fingers reaching her ear, and sending little waves of sensation down her neck. Bethany opened her mouth a little inviting his tongue with the tip of her own. She moved her arms to hold him around the hips and pull him to hers. He had an erection. She could feel it hard and enticing against her.

Seth began to stroke her nipples through the thin cotton of her crop top. Bethany sighed into his mouth, and traced her fingertips up and down his back, and then unable to help herself, she put a hand into his shorts and held him, his hardness making her give a little throaty sound of need.

Seth’s kiss was overwhelming and Bethany felt melted from the inside out. He thrust slightly into her hand. A little pearl of moisture escaped from his erection. Bethany felt it and smoothed her fingertips over it bringing her other hand to pull his shorts down so that she could hold him properly.

She loved to hold a man like that, one hand curled around his erection, the other stroking him underneath so that he would gasp, and thrust. She liked to have him in her mouth too, but right now Seth’s kisses were intoxicating, and she couldn’t bear the thought of his mouth not being on hers.

Seth moaned a little and took hold of Bethany’s shorts dragging them halfway down her thighs in one move. He was still kissing her hungrily and thrusting his own hips gently.

Blog Tour Stop - 'Inseparable' by Missy Johnson

Today is the first day of Missy Johnson's Inseparable blog tour - how excited am I to get to kick things off??? Unforch I didn't have time to review, but I have a couple excerpts - some humor and some hotness - AND a giveaway for you! So take a gander and as always, feel free to leave comments below.

Thanks for letting me host, Missy! ♥

*THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS GRAPHIC SEXUAL CONTENT AND STRONG LANGUAGE
AND IS INTENDED FOR MATURE ADULT AUDIENCES ONLY.*

Synopsis:

Nineteen year old Lily is still struggling with the death of her identical twin, Abby, a year earlier when she moves away from home for college.

Following Abby’s death, Lily spent time in a psych facility after she was still seeing, hearing and speaking to Abby as though she was still alive. Now, ready to begin college, Abby only shows up in her dreams.

A chance encounter with Dane Hansen changes Lily’s life. Lily’s friends warn her off becoming involved with Dane. He’s bad news, according to the rumors, anyway..

Now, he’s back, nearly a year after he disappeared off the face of the earth weeks into his freshman year at college. But Dane is far from the popular, womanizing, athlete he once was.

Dane has experienced loss himself, after his six year old sister was abducted and murdered nearly ten years ago. He understands Lily, and the more time he spends with her, the harder he falls.

There is something he hasn’t told her though, something almost nobody knows, and it’s something that might stop Lily from feeling the same way.

Excerpt #1:

“Dane Hansen?” She repeated, her voice far above the whisper I would have appreciated. Several students surrounding us stopped their conversations to stare at Gem. Her eyes grew wide.
“I’m so sorry,” She gasped, clapping her hand over her mouth, as she realized just how well her voice had carried through the hall. My face flamed as I stared straight ahead, too terrified to look around.
Surely her voice wouldn’t have carried that far, would it? There were a lot of rows between Dane and us. Slowly, I turned my head in his direction, convinced that he wouldn’t have heard her, but for some stupid reason I needed to check. What I wasn’t prepared for was to see his eyes firmly on me. Our eyes met and he grinned.
Shit. I quickly turned back around to continue my minor breakdown.

Excerpt #2:

His hand ran up my bare leg, lifting my thigh up onto his hip. I gasped as I felt his erection push flush up against my entrance, separated only by his pants and the thin fabric of my panties. His finger toyed with the lace edging, teasing me with his touch, his fingers threatening to dip inside me.
“I better go,” I whispered with all my resolve, when all I really wanted to do was spend the next six hours letting him explore my body. However, I also knew that if I didn’t take things slow, I would regret it. What I was feeling for Dane ran so much deeper than physical lust; the last thing I wanted was to rush into a sexual relationship too early.
“If you have to,” He mumbled, his hands caressing my face, with no intention of letting go. I kissed him again and smiled. He wasn’t making this easy.
“I do have to,” I replied, raising an eyebrow, “I had a great time tonight,” I added, meeting his gaze, my eyes reflecting the happiness in his. Kissing him again, I pulled away, knowing if I didn’t leave right this moment, I wouldn’t be able to leave at all.

Synopsis:

Annie Chang is in her mid 20s and has lived in Los Angeles all her life. After a series of failed relationships, she's beginning to feel like she will never meet Mr. Right. But seeing one of her longtime BFFs find love on the internet, she decides to give online dating a try. After finally finding an amazing guy who sweeps her off her feet, will he prove to be everything she could have wished for and more or is he too good to be true?

Excerpt:

Thankfully, traffic wasn’t too bad since it was a Tuesday night and she was only running a few minutes late when she pulled up to the valet.  A portly middle aged man of Hispanic descent wearing a zipped up black jacket and black slacks opened the door for her and handed her a ticket.
Shivering, she rubbed her arms briskly as she moved to the end of the rather long line of people standing outside the club.  Annie thought she was being smart when she decided to leave her coat in the car, knowing how hot she would get once she was inside, but the temperature had dropped several degrees in the late evening hour and she was quickly beginning to regret that decision.
As luck would have it, the line moved pretty quickly and it was only a matter of minutes before she stood in front of a pair of bouncers, both of them tall and heavily muscled.  The one holding a clipboard gruffly asked for her name.  She gave it to him and held her breath as she waited for him to check the guest list.
Had Gabe told them to add her name or was she going to look like an idiot?  But he only paused for a few moments before nodding and asking for her ID.  After he returned it, she stuffed it back into her clutch and eagerly headed into the comfort of the much warmer club.
Needing to do a quick mirror check and give herself a little pep talk, she hurried into the ladies room.  Her make-up and hair still looked fresh, so she just washed her sweaty palms and then applied a fresh coat of lip gloss before texting him.  Okay, nothing to be nervous about, girl.  You got this.

Annie:  I’m here.
Gabe:  Where are you?  Are you already inside?
Annie:  Yeah, I just left the ladies room in front.
Gabe:  Stay there.  I’ll come get you.
Annie:  Okay.

This was it — the moment of truth.  Annie stood there feeling a little awkward as a swarm of girls moved in and out of the ladies room, some of them looking at her as they passed by.  She tried to ignore their stares as she scanned the room for a tall guy who looked like Gabe’s pictures.
It wasn’t too long before she found him moving smoothly through the crowd of people.  A moment later he saw her as well, and his eyes lit up as a slow, sexy smile curved his lips.  Her breath caught as she did a mental back flip and cheer in her head.  Hot damn, she had hit the jackpot.
His dark brown hair looked like it had been buzzed recently and he wore a black t-shirt and a pair of distressed jeans with a black and silver studded belt and a pair of looped silver chains hanging down one side.  She smiled appreciatively as she noticed the tattoos on both of his toned arms and the diamond stud earrings in both of his ears.
“Hey…Annie, right?” he asked with a raised eyebrow when he was close enough for her to hear, then moved forward to give her a quick hug when she nodded.  She got a quick whiff of his scent which was a mix of aftershave and cologne…a little spicy, a little musky and absolutely delicious.   “You look insanely hot,” he murmured in her ear before he pulled away and winked at her.  “Come on, let’s get you a drink.”  He grabbed her hand and led her inside the club and then to the closest bar.  “What’s your poison?” he asked and she thought for a moment before responding.
“Um, you pick…surprise me.”
“Ha, you sure about that?”
“Yeah, I can handle it.”
“Alrighty.”  He leaned towards the bartender to give him their order, then handed over his credit card and told him to keep the tab open.  A minute later, the bartender pushed two shots towards them.  Gabe picked one up and handed it to her, then picked the other up and raised it to clink against hers.  “Cheers!” he yelled over the thumping music.
“Cheers!” she yelled back, then tossed it back like a champ.  Holy shit fire.  Can’t breathe.  Going to puke.  Goddamn it.  Why did he have to pick Tequila?  Gabe tossed his back with no problem, then burst out laughing when he saw her face.
“Oh wow, I’m sorry.  You look a little green.”  Shaking her head, Annie smiled weakly and patted her chest with one fist.
“I’m fine…or I will be in a minute.”
“You said surprise you.”
“I know, I know.  I deserved it.”  Annie didn’t dare admit to him that she’d felt so nervous and flustered at being in such close proximity to him that basic thought process was difficult for her at the moment.  When he had taken his hand in hers and led her to the bar, asking what she wanted to drink, she couldn’t think of a single thing to order.  It had been much easier just to let him pick something for her.  Now she knew that was a bad idea and had a drink order ready when he asked her what she’d like next.  “Kamikaze shot straight up.”  Gabe raised his eyebrow and chuckled as she hastily blurted out her request, but he turned and placed the order, holding up two fingers as he spoke to the bartender.
“Okay, we’ll do your girlie shot now.”
She smiled gratefully at him and found herself starting to relax and bounce in place to the pounding music as the current song began to reach its crescendo.  Soon Gabe was handing her a Kamikaze shot and lifting his to cheer with hers once again.  She had no problem tossing the shot back smoothly without coughing and making a face.  Kamikaze shots were her go-to drink and she didn’t often find bartenders who made them well, but this one was definitely the exception.  She appreciated how fresh it tasted and how smoothly it went down.  This time she was the one who motioned the bartender over, holding up two fingers and pointing to the now empty shot glasses.
After two more rounds of shots, Annie was starting to feel really good and grabbed Gabe’s hand to drag him out on the dance floor.  She made her way into the middle of the crowd, not letting go of him until she finally turned around to slide a hand around his waist and pull him close to her as she began to dance.  He was so much taller than she was, even with her heels on, and had to lean down to shout to her over the loud music that pumped through the club.  “Now I warned you I don’t really dance.”
Rolling her eyes, she raised on her toes to get closer to his ear.  “Just hold onto me and let your body move to the music.”  She grabbed his hands and placed them around her hips, his long fingers wrapping firmly around her.  The music pulsated as she swayed her hips back and forth slowly, eyes closed, her head bobbing in time to the thudding bass.  He felt so big and strong pressed closely against her and she felt a feeling of euphoria as they moved together, letting the hypnotic song control their movements.  Men and women danced around them on all sides, their sweaty bodies pressed against each other as everyone moved to the compelling beat.
“Who’s this song by?” he asked when he saw her lips move as she sang along.
“Kaskade and Deadmau5.”
“I think I really like this song, especially now that I’ve seen you dancing to it.”  He smiled down at her and she felt butterflies rise in a sudden whirlwind through her stomach.
“It’s called I Remember.”
“I don’t know why, but I just feel like…it feels like I knew you once and that I’m finally seeing you again after a long time.”  She wasn’t sure if he was being serious or if it was just the alcohol talking, but she was seriously buzzed and feeling good and so ready for his kiss when it came, that he could have been quoting Shakespeare or singing Sir Mix-A-Lot and it wouldn’t have mattered.
His mouth was intoxicating and his lips were warm and soft as they began to move against hers.  He dipped his tongue gently between her parted lips and slid it against her own as they continued to dance closely to each other.  The kiss deepened, quickly turning from sweet to passionate as his hands moved down to cup her ass, pulling her tightly against the hard, lean length of him as he continued to kiss her like he couldn’t get enough of the taste of her.  It was so amazing and felt so right to be dancing in his arms, like she just belonged there.
More and more, Annie was really wishing that there were no clothes between them as they continued to make out like teenagers and rub against each other in time to the music.  All caution had flown out the window with the second Kamikaze shot.  All she wanted more than anything at that moment was to have this delicious stud of a man pounding into her all night long.  He was lean and toned, but not overly muscled — some girls may consider him too skinny, but she had heard things about skinny guys and she was definitely in the mood to find out if the rumors were true.
Crooking a finger at him, she said “I want you” in his ear when he bent his head down closer to hear her.  Straightening back up, he looked down at her intently through hooded eyes for a few moments before finally responding.  She gave him her best “Come fuck me” smile and traced her fingers in lazy circles around his waist.
“Sweetie, you keep rubbing yourself against me like that and keep looking at me with those fuckin’ sexy bedroom eyes, you may end up getting more than you bargained for.”
Annie smiled wickedly back at him and asked tauntingly, “Hmm, is that a promise?”  A new song had started to play and had a harder driving beat.  Gabe must have been feeling the alcohol in his blood as he was now moving with surprising dexterity as he danced around her.
She could only assume that the hesitation he had shown before when she had asked him if he danced was probably the result of bad experiences, trying to dance with girls a lot shorter than him.  But she knew that you could be tall and still move your body to a basic beat and lose yourself in the rhythm of the music.  He seemed to have picked up on that rather quickly himself as he was now dancing with total abandon, like he’d been born on the dance floor.
They bounced up and down together as the beat popped and rolled and repeated again, waving their hands in the air with everyone around them.  The music kept pounding, the bass reverberating from the floor through their feet and spreading throughout the rest of their bodies as sweat dripped down their faces, but still they kept dancing.  A few minutes later, the music finally faded out and transitioned into the next song.  Gabe motioned his head towards the bar and she nodded and followed him off the dance floor, her hand firmly gripped in his.
“Another Kamikaze?” he offered.
“Sure.  Make it a double.”
He laughed and shrugged.  “Your funeral.”
“Aww…well, will you hold my hair if I have to puke?” she asked, wrinkling her nose as she looked up at him.
“That depends.”
“On what?” she asked curiously.
“Whether I’m going with you to your place tonight.”
“Oh…well yeah.”  Annie looked at him like that had been a dumb question.  “I thought I had made that pretty obvious the way I was dry humping you out there.”
“Well, in that case...”  He pulled her close to him and kissed her deeply again, nipping lightly at her lower lip before sweeping his tongue back over to sooth it.  “I say forget the drink and let’s get out of here.”
She didn’t need to be told twice.  “Okay,” she agreed, nodding happily.
“Okay.”  He kissed her once more before waving down the bartender to close out his tab.  After settling the bill, he reached for her hand and led her through the crowd and out of the club.

My Thoughts:

Okay, this is going to be one of my shorter reviews because, like a dumb ass, I waited till the last minute to write it up even though I finished my ARC weeeeeeeks ago...but how much can you pick apart a book you really, really enjoyed, anyway? Love In All The Wrong Places is a pretty great first novel that shakes the erotic romance genre up a little bit in the process (and praisaluiah, cuz it needs it!). It's refreshing that we aren't introduced to "the one" right away - in fact we go through (technically) four hotties in one book! Okay three hotties and one wuss-puss that starts the whole thing off (I have a theory that he's gay, but I digress smiley Indifferent0027 ).

That's not to say that Annie, our heroine, is a skank er nuttin' - merely a young, beautiful, sexually liberated girl in L.A. who really wants to be loved and takes to internet dating to try and find it. And on Craigslist at that! Naturally, hijinks and shenanigans ensue and our sweet girl makes some really poor choices that leave her heartbroken and not a little humiliated. I actually caught myself saying out loud at one point, "Oh, sweet Jesus...why did you...??? Oh, honey. Bless your heart." smiley No  Annie's insecurity (thanks largely in part to Wuss-Puss) takes over her common sense on more than one occasion...but if you weren't young and stupid once then you haven't lived proper, if you ask me. She's just looking for her HEA and I'm sure we've all been slappy stupid for love - or what we thought was love - at one point or another. Add on the insecurity, loneliness, rejection and the friggin' shit stew that is Craigslist and you basically have the makings of a fascinating train wreck of a story that you won't be able to put down. smiley 16a3c6a

Also have to hand it to Audrey that each guy she introduced was vastly different from each other. One had a particularly fascinating accoutrement I might like to experiment with myself, if I can find it! I won't tell you what it is. You'll have to read to find out.  smiley Whistle

Lastly, I love whenever a gay bestie shows up (I have many in my real life and one of them became a character in my own work, too). They always smack down the realness and bring the comedy - and in this case, dessert also. Every Grace or Karen needs her Will or Jack. smiley Crush

Yet again we've got another cliffhanger - it's all the rage these days. So frustrating! But I highly anticipate the follow up to see what happens with Annie and the adorable boy she was just getting to know when we're left hanging. I certainly hope Audrey is typing her little fingers to the bone right this minute!

Go get it. You will enjoy it!

Synopsis:

From the moment she first saw him running on the treadmill next to her, Spencer Marshall had fallen head over heels in love with Brandon Montgomery. After Spencer has a near-death experience she would rather forget, they do their best to move on with their lives, leaving their past behind them.

Thankful for a fresh start and eager to move on with her life, Spencer focuses on helping her best friend Ryan Kennedy plan her wedding. Everything seems to be going as planned when someone from Brandon's past reappears. Can Spencer and Brandon survive the coming days as they struggle to deal with ghosts from the past?

Excerpt:

We sat at an open table and continued to mingle with my friends as we enjoyed some of the delicious appetizers that were provided. I enjoyed having Brandon at my side as he laughed, teased and joked with everyone, putting all of my friends at ease. If they weren’t already head over heels for him, I knew they would be by the end of the evening.

“I'm going to grab another beer, you ladies want anything?” Brandon asked.

We all agreed that we needed a refill of our wine. I began to stand up to go with him to help carry drinks, but Carroll beat me to it.

“I'll go with you, Brandon––you can't carry it all.”
“It’s okay, I'll go with him,” I said.
“It’s no problem, Spence –– I'm already heading that way.  You just sit here and relax and we’ll be back in a few,” Carroll assured me with a wink.
“Okay, sure, glass of Chardonnay. Thank you!”
“You got it, Babe,” Brandon said and kissed my cheek.
Just as Brandon and Carroll left, I saw one of the new fitness consultants approaching our table. Acyn was a nice guy and likeable, but he was also a total ladies’ man and had already flirted his way through most of the office.
“Hey, Spencer––ladies,” Acyn greeted in his Southern drawl as he came closer to our table.
“Hey, Acyn, how are you?” I asked as he sat down in Brandon’s seat next to me.
“I'm doing better now,” he said with a wink.
“Acyn, you look very nice tonight,” Bel said flirtatiously.
“Thanks, Bel.  Ladies, I have to say that you all look beautiful––love the dress, Spencer,” Acyn said as he leaned close to me and winked, gently bumping my shoulder with his.
“Thank you,” I said politely as I shifted away from him.
A few seconds later, Brandon and Carroll were back from the bar with our drinks.
“Oh, Acyn, I’m sorry––didn't know you were here. I would have gotten you a beer, too,” Carroll said.
“It's okay, I just got here actually,” Acyn said as he gave Brandon the once-over.
Brandon met his gaze evenly and smiled briefly. “Sorry, man, but if you don’t mind?” He nodded to where Acyn was sitting, indicating that Acyn had taken his seat.
I quickly piped up, “Acyn, this is my boyfriend, Brandon. Brandon this is Acyn. He is one of our new fitness consultants.”
Even though Brandon worked out almost everyday at the gym, Acyn was a bit bulkier than he was. Acyn had the most piercing blue eyes and his hair was chocolate brown like Brandon's. Brandon was a few inches taller than Acyn, but they both had killer smiles guaranteed to get any ladies’ panties wet.
“Nice to meet you,” Brandon said, sticking out his hand to shake Acyn's.
Acyn's eyes flitted quickly between me and Brandon. I had never told him that I had a boyfriend and he had never asked. He flirted with everyone in the office, so I never took him seriously. As I watched his reaction to Brandon, I started to realize that I may have misunderstood what I had thought to be casual flirting.
“Yeah man, you've got a great girl here. Sorry for stealing your seat,” he said as he got up and let Brandon have his chair back.
“I know I do,” Brandon said, slinging his arm over my shoulder as he sat down and kissed my cheek. “She’s the best.”
Acyn took a seat next to Sue, which was directly in front of me. While we all talked about our plans for the holidays, I caught Acyn frequently staring at me. I was sure Brandon noticed because he would casually squeeze my leg each time. I was starting to get a little uncomfortable when Brandon leaned over and whispered in my ear.
“So, Babe, I still haven't seen your office.”
“Oh, yeah. Would you like a personal guided tour?” I whispered back as I grinned and winked at him mischievously.
“Lead the way, Babe.”
“If you all would excuse us again,” I said to the crowded table.
I grabbed Brandon's hand, lacing our fingers and led him towards the elevators. As we stopped at the elevator doors, I pushed the up button and looked up at Brandon’s face.
“What's wrong?” I asked when I noticed he looked mildly annoyed.
“Nothing. Sorry––I just haven't seen anyone flirt with you before. Just struck a nerve.”
I didn't respond right away. I just looked at him and bit my lip as I smiled. I could never get enough of him, so for him to act jealous over something like that was a little disappointing. I had spent the last three and half months watching women flirt endlessly with him. I actually thought for a brief moment that maybe Acyn flirting with me was a good thing––it would show Brandon what I had been exposed to.
“Babe, you have nothing to worry about. I'm yours,” I said. As the elevator doors opened, I pulled him inside with our hands still laced together. When I turned back around to face the front of the elevator, I saw Acyn watching us. I quickly pushed the button for the fifth floor and then stepped back to Brandon's side.
“You're mine?” he asked, stepping in front of me and bringing his face inches from mine as the elevator doors closed.
“Yes,” I whispered, looking into his mocha eyes, which caused my heart to skip a beat and my stomach to clench a little in anticipation of his touch.
Brandon reached down for my hands, pushed me back against the elevator wall and held my arms above my head as he claimed my mouth.
“Mine,” he mumbled against my lips.
“Yours.”
